Tankless Water Heater Rebate Listing by State:

Current Tankless Water Heater Rebate Offers: This is the first place you should look for  rebate offers for your on demand water heater.

(1) Scroll down to the bottom to  see a table summary of offerings in your state

(2) Or go the to the top map  and click on your state

(3) Scroll down to the very end and look for “visit”and click on the website with your state’s rebate program,do not click on the Energy Star site.  The state rebate websites are set up specifically for rebates and you should visit your state’s site first as they should be very knowledgeable  about the rebate programs.

Tankless Water Heater Rebate and Recycyling Incentives:

Enery Star Rebate Locator: Energy Star’s tankless water heater rebate locator is very well designed, and easy to use.  We think it’s a great place to find rebates in your state should the previous section give you no results.     What’s also different than the first site we mentioned is that  that they also try to list any recycling incentives in your local area for the disposing of your old unit.

State and Local Utility Energy Efficient Appliance Incentives:

Database of State Incentives for Renewables &Efficiency (DSIRE): This is a tremendously helpful site that shows a very thorough listing of various incentives by your utility company and your city or state for energy efficient appliances.  You’ll see various rebate programs and offers.

Tankless Water Heater Rebate Policy Information:

NASEO or the National Association of State Energy Officials: This organization is a collaboration between state energy officials formed to keep abreast of policies and federal laws that promote  energy efficiency programs.  This site offers one of the best ways to receive up to date information on rebates and other offerings.  Click on the state you live, then email one of the officials with your questions concerning rebates.

In addition to the above resources we recommend:

  • You will definitely want to ask your local utility company if they offer a program for exchanging your storage type water heater for a tankless water heater.
  • Some retailers may offer a similar cash program or buyback program so please call your local stores.
